How to Develop Human Potential

The world we are living in is changing rapidly, but, our basic needs as human beings, not so much. However, all of us struggle to keep up with this new world and society we have created and are still continuing to create. We are under constant pressure and stress, while only trying to get through the day completing all the tasks we need to.

However, in facing the unknown and unpredictable, reliving from stress and living more peacefully and reaching our full potential, developing human potential can be very helpful. Human potential considers the capacity to improve ourselves through various techniques in order to reach our full potential, so we could develop new skills and live a happy and more fulfilled life.

How to unlock human potential

The first thing you want to do when trying to develop your potential is to explore your values. A big downside of constantly being busy is that we forget what we value, and get disconnected from it, which can lead to despair and hopelessness. Ergo, it is important to remind ourselves of what we truly value and care about, or to take the same practices which will help us explore them, so that our introspection could be productive and safe.

The next step in developing your potential would be external validation. You may be wondering how allowing someone’s validation can help you to develop your potential, but it is actually very important. Allowing someone, who knows and understands you well, to validate your goals and ideas, may judge them, but will also support you if they are good.

Moreover, in order to develop your potential, it is crucial to explore your edges, that is to be uncomfortable. Putting yourself in some uncomfortable situations, or do something you dislike, can be important for your emotional and intellectual growth. Also, putting yourself in those situations can help you gain new information, perspective, and generally to learn something new, which you wouldn’t be able to do if constantly following the same routine.

Lastly, in this very time-consuming and tightly scheduled world, we are living in, it is important to leave time for some unscripted activities. As stated, being constantly busy and always planning your next step, means we have little or no time to explore or experience something new. However, leaving some of your time unplanned, means that you are willing to accept unexpected but intriguing ideas proposed to you, with an open mind willing to learn from them, which is a whole idea of developing your potential.

Putting all these advice into practice may take time, and you will most likely feel uncomfortable doing them. However, that means that you’re unlocking your potential, which indicates that you are moving towards living your life to the fullest.
